What am I doing wrong!!!! I tried shooting my Scout .50 cal. (for the first time) and I end up getting shrapnal from the #11 caps in face!!! I tried a couple of loads with T/C Maxiballs ( 75 gr of T7......eq 87-90 bp)....and I tried a load with ball and patch (50 gr T7....eq 58-60 bp). It seems to me that I was getting a lot of blowback..........and these loads are by no means excessive!!!! Before I took the gun out to the range I took the gun apart and thoroughly cleaned and oiled like I do all my guns.......everything seemed fine! I didn't realize the shrapnal at first.......didn't really feel it.......just noticed I was bleeding in three different places on my face after a few shots. If you feel like laughing.....go for it......I probably would......lol...

Firstly check what type of nipple you have in the gun.I think you should have the vented hot shot type to avoid the cap being destroyed. It may be a shotgun nipple which will allow more blow back.
Secondly I think that there is a port that vents the gasses out the side of the action area make sure that it is clear. Sorry I can't be more detailed but its been about 10 years since I owned a scout.

The vents were clear....I made sure when I took it apart prior to shooting.........but I definitely will check the nipple type.......thanks for the help.....and for not laughing..lol
P.S. I like your "Nazi-occupied" Liberal Ontario thingy.........Ain't that true(I' m in Ont. too.).........I love my province but the Nazi's are getting to me too!!!
