1100 competition synthetic

New to sporting

I am new to sporting shotguns but have tried trap and sporting clays , and find both lots of fun . I have a Beretta O/U but my neck won't take the punishment .
I am just ordering a Remington 1100 Competition Synthetic and found this tread today .
Koko83 have you been to the range lately . Can you shoot all day without
cleaning or oiling ? My other choice to make the short list is a Winchester
Super X3 Sporting Adjustable , but it is almost 50% more expensive .
Any thoughts from the experts ?

Actually, I spent all last weekend shooting mine. It worked flawlessly. Shot 6 rds of trap on Saturday and arrived home to a surprise party, so only got to give it a cursory wipe down. Right back out first thing sunday morning for another 8 boxes of shells, and still no issue.

Looks like my first week with the gun was break in period. Maybe i didn't give it as solid an "out of the box" cleaning as it required. In any case, I shoot it all day, without feeling the effects of recoil, and without any failures.

1100 parts are readily available, and every gun smith, and most of their grandson's know how to service them. Good consideration when buying a semi-auto.

Hope this helps!

I too looked at a Winchester SX3. My only complaint was the gun felt light, but that's a personal thing. Otherwise, solid choice.

I should note, i usually give the piston a light shot of G96 before I shoot. I don't know if this is necessary, but it doesn't hurt, and makes clean up easy.

Thanks for the reply . I ordered one today . I hope I have the same luck you have had , in relation to reliability . Thanks for the G96 tip .

Nice. Good on you. Feel free to PM me when it arrives, if you have any questions. Hope you enjoy it. Where are you located, by the way?
The Canadian distributor doesn't have any in stock , but has two waiting at the border to be cleared at customs . I hope my dealer has one of them reserved for me . I am way up north in Sault Ste. Marie . Only one gun store for a 3 hour driving radius , in Canada .
Thanks for the kind offer for support after it arrives .
