I plan on loading some 110gr hornady jacketed .30carbine bullets for 30-06. I'l be using IMR 4320 or H4895. Other than having to seat the bullet VERY shallow, is there anything else I should consider?

You don't need to seat them shallow in a mistaken attempt to get the bullets close to the rifling. Try seating them straight, about one calibre in (.3") for best ignition. You might find that they work well and will be good practice loads.

Yeah, I don't have any hope of seating near the rifling. These suckers are SHORT! I'm just going to seat them to where the ogive starts.

HofZ, take them to a gun show and trade them off for something you really want.

Failing that, try trading them on the EE with someone living near you. The 110grn RN M1 Carbine bullets aren't always easily come by.

I used to shoot a lot of the 110RN .30 carbine bullets years ago out of a .30-06 just for fun for gophers and such since I got a whack of them dirt cheap. Sometimes I'd smell guts on the wind but never did find the little buggers:)
