Maybe, its 3/8's plywood...Doesn't do that at 3100 though...

Maybe they are on the verge of blowing up.. A grey puff at 125 yards.

Personally, I've never been able to get good accuracy in 30 caliber rifles that have commercial chambers, 1-10 twist rates and long throats. Just to much freebore.

I know others claim good results in their rifles but my results were just like the OPs.

As mentioned above, are the bullets even rated for those velocities?

The 110gr .270 VMAX bullets work great on coyote's, but I only drive them @3200fps. The one wolf I shot last season from 50 meters had no exit wound!
