I have a Remington 1187 I'm the second owner, its seen alot of use over the years. It has light primer strikes which will fail to fire about 2 out of 25. I have given it a good cleaning and replaced the fireing pin and spring. Just wondering does anyone know how often the brech bolt buffer needs to be replaced? It does look a little beat up. Also does anyone know where I can find one? Brownells or Gravel Acency doesn't have them.
Thank appreciate any help

Western Gun Parts will most likely have one but usually require a dealer to order it... and along with some other parts as they have a minimum purchase of $30... plus taxes plus shipping...

Thanks for all the info. I have read a few other posts on different sites saying that the breach bolt buffer was the cause of there light primer strikes on their 1187 so that's the only reason I was thinking my also needed to be replaced also looking rough. It looks like a simple job.

1100 1187 buffers only get beat on the upper edge. You can rotate the buffer 180 degrees and re drill it for another long term of use. This is not advised if the buffer is cracked or broken. This is the time to check and make sure the firing pin slides smoothly through the buffer to prevent binding and light strikes. As I said before a new buffer is not needed.
