A friend of mine has a Remy 1187 black synthetic he wants to sell me for $450.. It's a year old and in like new condition... Can anyone tell me what it's worth???

Where you are matters.
I'd want to know why he's selling it. However, Epp's recently sold a used 11-87 Special Purpose at $479. That being a retail used price. So $450 isn't great, but not bad either.

I would just like to ad that my redneck buddy Earle has an 11-87, and from the thousands and thousands of shells that thing has fired, usually as fast as possible, it still works perfectly unless you use the #### Winchester shells, but then I think most shotguns dislike those.

Given the opportunity (and money is pocket), I would definitely buy one for 450.

The 11-87 is the biggest piece that I have ever owned, The first one I bought was brand new, I may have put 1000 rounds of target loads and 200 3.5 goose loads, was out goose hunting in sask on a trip with the boyz and my gun failed, some part broke off the receiver and seized **** stiff, so I took it back to where I bought it and Remington warrantied it after 3 months of thinking, they gave me a new gun and I went back to sask for another goose hunt with my brand new gun hardly used and the bolt fell apart and a shell blew up in my face, they took that one back and i bought a xtrema2, never go back.

It's the 1187 super mag black synthetic, 28 " barrel

No matter how you look at it, $450.00 is a good price if the gun is only a year old. You also have to remember there is no tax on a private sale. I have used an 1187 for waterfowl for the last 4 years and have had no issues. I paid $619.00 plus tax at the time.
