Purchased a shorty barrel for my 870, and the indexing is out just enough that the extractor will not engage the barrel. If I tilt the gun a bit the extractor engages, but not in the upright position. Anyone else have this problem, and is there a fix, or is it just a case of sending it back for exchange? I have 3 Remington barrels and they all work flawlessly.
 
You actually can put a 12" Grizz barrel on the 870? I thought it was...well....verboten. Or is that only if I cut my 870 barrel??
 
Anyone else having problems with these? I'm looking to get one soon for my 1980's wingmaster magnum. I know 2 others that are interested in them as well but not if there's issues with them. Maybe I'll have to be the gunnie pig and get mine first.
 
I've tried 3or 4 different Norinco barrels on 3 or 4 different 870's and they all had indexing issues and some barrels wouldn't fit on with out a lot of force.
I never tried them for function but I had no extractor issue and even though they were poorly indexed I think they would have functioned but I decided they fit better on Norinco receivers and that is where I leave them.

I've posted a few pictures I took showing the indexing issues over the years and most people including some who sell shotgun accessories claimed they've never noticed any issues.

I guess I'm a bit fussier then some and notice these things.
