12.5” barrel experiences

My 14.5 has a pretty bad brake (vg6) on it, it throws fire.

My 10.5 has an a2 style compensator (from v7), it burps fire too.

12.5" 5.56 is a flamethrower man. Stick to 14.5" or go to 300 Blackout.

Most short barrel gats do. Thats where ammo choice and muzzle device becomes very important. Something like the warcomp or the 3 prong flash hiders from multiple manufacturers do a stratlingly good job of mitigating muzzle flash.

Saw a YouTuber called Garand thumb and he explains his preferred sbr barrel length is 12.5. The reason why it’s 12.5 because it gives you ergonomic of a 11.5 and it has the performance of a 14.5 but with a 70-80 lower muzzle velocity.
