12.5 DA barrel on my 870, what rear sight?

I have a 12.5" barrel coming for my 870 express, it has that tall post front sight on it. What is a reasonably priced rear sight that will work with it? that can be installed without a gunsmith? That doesn't cost more than my shotgun? My current thought process has led me to a receiver mounted scope rail (the kind that straddles the receiver and bolt through the receiver pin holes, which I will get for a scope eventually anyway) and a "back-up" or "battle" sight that mounts on the rail. I will probably have to spend some time tinkering around to find a rail and sight that gives me the proper height to match the front sight, unless someone has a better option... like a full length rail? Stuff that is available off the shelf in the GTA would be great too.

I've found most Chinese barrels don't index perfectly on Remington receivers.
Most people don't seem to notice or care and for the most part the gun will function but in your case with the taller sight you will likely notice it leaning to one side .
I think flip up style backup sights will be a bit to high but once you've got your rail on the gun you can mock up a rear sight and test it at the range to determine optimum height.
Is your re ei Ed drilled and tapped for a rail?

You don't need a rear sight because of the short barrel. Most shot guns just have a bead front sight.

I used a saddle rail with a red dot on mine - you're closer to Tac Ord than I am though, you might want to consult with an expert.
