12.5" Grizzly with Pistol Grip, non-res?

They are restrictions on gun ownership, they don't have to make sense. They just have to satisfy a generally ignorant and fearful public.

Take advantage of it where you can: If it's manufactured at less than 26" but still qualifies as a long gun, then it's not restricted. Like the Mare's Leg leverguns - Mine's 25" OAL from the factory, non-restricted.

Can you get the Grizz with the pistol grip in stock configuration? If you add it on yourself, then it's going to be prohib if it goes below 26". Any change from stock configuration counts as modification.

No sense.
You can have and use a 14" barrel but you can't cut down a barrel to 14".....
With the Rossi Ranchand which is non restricted from the factory and is about 25 inches long if you glued on a rubber or leather pad to the butt cap and increased the length to 25 1/2 inches you'd also be building a prohib.

So many threads about this, but After doing a ton of reading the way I choose to interput the law is that the overall length must be longer then 26" *or was it 26 1/2"* you cannot cut down the barrel. But you can buy a manufactured short barrel from manufacturer.

If the idea you can't put on a manufactured shortened barrel because it would make it prohibited was true, then dlask, and DA would not make short barrels for sale. Common sense.

I made mine 26 1/4" and yes it needs to be measured parallel to the barrel.

YES! That's perfect. I'll do that! Thanks for all the replies. I find with shotguns, 99% of the time it's slung on my back banging into my spine and catching tree branches. It'd be nice to have something a lot more comfortable, but still 100% useable.

Now I just need a "book of Eli" knife. ;)

Well my first reply was off topic and not helpful...this one isn't much better, but for Book of Eli knife I suggest the Zombietools Phalanx :D

From the Criminal Code, Section 84 definitions:

Two criteria: Overall length and barrel length. I read that to mean if you modify it after it leaves the retailer (whether by cutting it or putting a shorter stock or barrel on), and it winds up less than 26" overall or with a barrel less than 18", it's prohib.

if this is to be taken as bible, why is a M203 listed as a non-restricted?

~9inch barrel, ~6inch receiver, and no stock

Beautiful jobX2! I was thinking it needs a high strength alloy pistol grip cap with a snap on mechanism to accept an axe head. :D

Do they come with a pistol grip? Submit one with a pistol grip and see what the CFC says?
Looking at the m203 with no stock reminds me of an 870 with no stock.
I'm pretty sure if I remove the stock on a 12.5" 870 it's still non restricted.

So many things don't make sense.

Hahaha, that knife is awesome. Yes, in a Zombie apocalypse a long blade would be a lot more useful then any firearm - after the ammo runs out. Very cool looking tool.

...Now I just need some Book of Eli sunglasses... (...waits)
