12.5 Grizzly

Just read in the newsletter that the 8.5" Grizzlies will show up in the next couple of weeks, but there was no mention of the 12.5" Grizzlies. They must be lower on the list of priorities due to less demand I'm guessing. I also had assumed that the 12.5" might have been in production before the 8.5" were even announced. Probably wrong on that too.

I think they were - but that batch is sold out. They had 12.5's in, now they're sold out. I suspect the 8.5's were next on the list, and we'll see the 12.5's come in later again.
 
I'm on their mailing list, and have been checking their site for months. The status has been "mid 2010" for months, which puts it June-ish. Are people pre-paying for these things, or am I missing something? (probably :( ) I know a bit about the limitations/timing of dealing with suppliers in China, so I understand that nailing down an exact date is impossible. I also suspect that CA probably doesn't want excessive stock on hand~what retailer does? BUT, the sense I'm getting is that they either over-cautious with stock, or have a bit of difficulty getting a handle on the amount of demand for their guns. Either way, there seems to be a ton of discussion about pre-orders, and out of stock items where Canada Ammo is concerned.
 
Noticed that you can't look at the close-up/detail photos of this gun on the site. Were they taken down? (bead sight, tube mag) If so, I'm hoping it's not because any spec. has changed....? I know they're looking at adding a wood-furniture version.
