12.5" on an 870 Tactical - Unrestricted

Hey,
Just an FYI for anyone searching. I called the Canadians Firearms Program today and they said I was completely ok to put a 12.5" barrel on my 870, as long as the overall length was longer that 26". The tip of the stock to the tip of the 12.5" barrel should be just over 30". No re-registering was required.

Question is,
Where is the best place to get a 12.5 or 14" barrel for my 870?

Just got mine delivered from Canada Ammo today. With my gun OAL is 32". I had no issues with fitting.

They sell it for IIRC $145.99

I've seen guys wielding those shorty 870s and always wondered when i was going to hear about a hand slipping off the forend and ending up in front the muzzle...

any thoughts on how one might prevent that? ... besides practice, experience etc.

Hold on to it. I've fired hundreds of rounds from a short barre shotgun, never once came close to having a hand slip off.

when shooting a pumpgun does your hand normally slip off the pump on to the mag tube???

My hand does not normally slip off the forend. Not at all...

It has certainly never happened to me, nor have i ever seen or heard of it, thats not to say it is impossible!

Lets see, never has happened with my 28" 18" 14" shotguns, why would it suddenly happen on my 12.5 inch?
