12.5" rail on 14.5" barreled upper?

I cant decide on the length of rail/forend to put on my 14.5" upper . I like the 9.2" but also the 12.5" and dont want to go with the carbine length. anyone got pros and cons? and anyone got pictures of theres as well ?

I have the Daniel defense lite rail 12.0 on my rifle which is actually 12.65 inches long. Looks very good and covers almost the entire barrel and gas block. Also gives you a longer sight radius which is better if you're running any type of BUIS. I will try to post a picture if I have time but just google DD lite rail 12.0 and you should get a couple ideas of what a rail that long would look like, that's what I did initially.
 
The top one in the pic is an 11" Samson. A 12.5 would probably cover the M203 cut. 11" is a good length and I like it better than the 9" on the other rifle.

Just finished a 12 with a 14.5 inch barrel . I'm not all that happy with how it looks . Sight radius is better than with a 9 , but all in all I don't need that much rail space and the 12 rail cuts into the LCF
