I am selling my tactical 18.5" Mossberg and decided I am going to basically make the exact gun pictured below. Probably going to do a grizzly with wood furniture.

Anyways, I have become pretty accusomed to, and fond of my mounted flash light. Is losing the flash light the cost of going with the shorter barrel? I just do not see any way to mount one.

Has anyone seen a way?

Carve a flat spot on the foregrip, mount a short rail, mount a short light to the short rail.

For an out of the box option the Streamlight Tactical Mount Remington 870 would work with a short light.

Google search "streamlight 870 mount"

They make one that has a ring which goes under the mag-tube cap, that has an offset rail along the side.
Can be found for sale on Amazon.

You guys are great! Thank you!

I will certainly be picking one of those up! Or maybe even save myself the $30 and give Can-down's Macgyver method a try! Regardless I have my answer :)

The idea is kind of a juxtaposition IMO. A tactical flashlight mounted on a classic wood furnished shotgun.
It's akin to installing HiVis Xenon headlamps on a vintage muscle car. A bit odd looking.

I like the cleaner look of mine, but that's just my POV.

I use an adaptor that fits into a side saddle. Instal on demand when it gets dark. Works ok. Minimal shifting when experiencing recoil. Definitely be ok for any bump in the night encounter I may experience when out in the wilderness.
picked it up used here on the EE. Couldn't tell you how, who, or where to get….
