My 12(6) Smith family pic:

Just need a 2" J and a compact .45 and I'll be happy. (For a while, anyway;))

I spent 8 wonderful years of my life living in beautiful downtown Grand Centre.....Er...no....I spent Eight years freezing my butt off! Send a list over of your 12(6) and I'll tell you which ones I'll take...
Grande Centre is now called Cold Lake South after Medley, Grande Centre and Cold Lake amalgamated.
If you haven't been back for a while, the former shanty town of Grande Centre is now one of the most beautiful, modern community's you can imagine, as is the entire area.
Hard to believe that when the RCAF was trying to create RCAF Cold Lake, many of the locals were very much against it.
The Lac LaBiche area was also a potential for the base. Or was a ruse to deflect land speculators. Or both.
My Dad was on the advance party and we were one of the first families on the base.
Memories

We were in Medley from '76-80 and Grand Centre from '80-'84. I haven't been back since but may next month as I have a few extra days in Edmonton to kill between meetings....It might be interesting

32 years old 12(6) wish i could trade for 12(5) all you old guys make sure you have a younger grandfathered person lined up to leave your prohibs to its better to give them away than have them turned into police by a griveing faimily member i will be sure to have one lined up for myself. we must keep the evil guns alive :)

37, 12(6) and 12(3).;) And I kick myself for not buying one of the $150 Indian FALs for 12(5).:(

Damn we can kick each other.

I am 39 with 12(6) and 12(5)....... but no 12(3). I got 12(5) via AK and one of those $125 Indian FALs............I bought the Indian FAL instead of a CA STEN or CA Israeli FAL!

Drives me nuts thinking about it to this day!

I'm a 12(6) but don't really appreciate it I guess.

Got it because way back in 73, my father-in-law gave me his Mauser 7.62 that he brought back from WW2. But I did buy myself a nice S/42 Luger with 4 inch barrel without giving it a second thought though. Guess I'm spoiled.

Too bad they don't allow you to sell your 12 (6). I'd sell mine in a flash... to the highest bidder of course. :D :D

Sure you can sell it, to anyone with 12(6). The catch is that if you sell all of your 12(6)'s, you lose the status. The last 5 pistols I bought were all 12(6).

Hey dirtytwo....me too...first short barrel I got was 5904 in 1990. Bought it at the Hock Shop in Barrie...whew!

Strangeday, I got my 5904 from Winnipeg Supply before I moved to Ottawa. Funny, I went there to buy a Taurus copy of the Beretta 92 and they sold-out a few hours before I got there, so the guy showed me the S&W and the rest is history. I wish all my guns were as easy to clean!

badboy, your information is wrong. Prohibited 12(6) handguns are still legal to transport to a range and shoot. Accordingly, I was thumping some 124grs downrange with my 5904 not even 2 hrs ago!!!;)

Yes sorry i forgot that.
It must be that i,m more into the long guns for there history and was not really thinking about the 12(6).
As that just dont make any sence to me at all.
Your 105mm glock is evil, but my 108mm glock if ok, WTF is up with that er!

very depressing guys
but it dont matter what 12 ( x) you have none of use can use them :)
bbb

The other 12(x)'s are out (for now!) but there are no specific restrictions on usage of 12(6)'s.

(EDIT:Ooops...you were writing the same time as me...sorry!...and you're right about it not making sense. Compare a 4" N-frame S&W which is 12(6) with an H&K P7 which isn't!)
