Now that I'm re-educating myself on the gun laws in this country, I am quite literally gobsmacked by the difference between restricted and prohibited pistols. It seems completely arbitrary and does nothing to solve gun violence.

That said, I am a 12.6 license holder and I am now looking to add to my prohibited collection. Aside from the EE here, does anyone know of any dedicated 12.6 owners groups, forums, or any gun stores that specialize in prohibited pistols?

Check out firearm auctions both online and in person sales. Lots of interesting 12.6's come up and limited bidders due to 12.X bull****.

∆ what he said! There are several Canadian auction companies that handle a ton of prohibited pistols every few months. One even pays the CFO to have staff processing transfers live during the auction. You can take them home if you are on site!

"Grandfathering" is a liberal socialist concept to keep two groups of citizens from exercising their same rights. Why gun owners allow this to continue is mystifying.
Gun rights organizations should be suing the federal government about this disparity that is clearly unconstitutional. Bill C-68's removal was a key election promise by the Conservative Party of Canada. The new guy in charge of the CPC even supports supply management.
I guess O'Sullivans law has come true in Canada.

As others have stated, auctions are a good place to find prohibs, as well as the EE. I've bought from Landsborough and Switzer's, and found both to be decent.

I decided a year or so ago to add to my prohib collection with a few pistols. Roughly half were bought at auctions, and half on the EE. The key is to be patient: I made a list of the guns I wanted to acquire, and it took me a year to do it. A couple of times I got outbid on a particular gun in an online auction, but then managed to buy a similar gun off an EE seller for a better deal.

Read the fine print, so you are aware of the extra fees you will pay for an auction win (buyer's premium, shipping, tax, etc.).
