An older friend of mine asked me to help price a coupel of revolvers that he wants to sell. The Ruger .357 is a 12.6 with a 101mm barrel. An absolute shame I never got my 12.6 when I could have, I was in my 20's and building my house, didn't really use many handguns and money was tight. I regret it now as I woudl have bought this revolver, even though the finish is worn. It just feels so good in the hand :)

Anyways, can anyone help with the value of these revolvers? I know it won't be much but I don't want him to get ripped off, ether. :)

Switzer's has an auction Wed the 24th of Aug and another on 26th. Search the listings to see if there are any like these two on offer. If yes, watch the closing price. That is your "fair market value" test.

Thanks, gentlemen, that is great help. Since I don't actually possess these guns and therefore can't list them here on the EE, and don't have 12.6...what is the best way to sell these? I'm sure he would agree to take the values listed here.

Can you get him to join CGN? And apply for the EE. Then you can guide him through the process, if he needs the help.
Or he can sign up with the OTHER site...but CGN is waaay more reputable!

:)

If it were only that simple. He's in the middle of moving and probably not going to join up, make the required posts to get on the EE and wait the required time etc...:)

I'm sure he would take $200 + shipping as Ganderite suggested. Seems fair to me. I'll probably try to list it on some other websites, or failing that maybe put it consignment at some store in Vancouver. thanks !
