Any one have a good Canadian source selling good quality 12" 10/22 barrels at a good price. Any experience you have with brands and dealers would be appreciated. I'm also looking for somewhere to find an oversized charging handle in Canada too.

nope looked everywhere. Nobody sells them anymore. It's always "sold out". Dlask, NEA, and about 100 Canadian retailers. There is not one single store in Canada that has a 12" or shorter 10/22 barrel in stock. Spent a day looking online at everything. Short 10/22 barrels must be made of unobtanium or something

12.5" are available now from Dlask, I just ordered one.

Thanks Buster95. I just ordered a 12.5" from dlask too. Still looking for that over sized charging handle though.

WOW... exactly the same boat i'm in! I just ordered my Dlask 12.5 .920 barrel today, and i'm also looking for a "skeletonized" cnc oversized charging handle for a marauder/nomad build. I spoke to Joe.D this afternoon and he said they'll prolly sell out real quick again!

i can't for the life of me find one in Canada! you'd think SOMEONE would have these things, as alot of guys are looking for them!

I may just have to break down and order one and have it shipped to the US parcel service i use, then have someone pick it up for me.... i havnt got my passport or quick crossing card yet! what a pain. total kne jerk reaction to 9/11..... make it difficult for us honest people to cross, and the bad guys flow through like water, IMO.... meh.

@Ginnz...You might want to edit your post...you're suggesting doing something illegal which is against forum rules...just sayin'...

whats illegal? i can order stuff, and have it shipped to the parcel service across the line, and have my father pick it up for me. theres nothing wrong with that. I give him my e-bay invoice, he goes, and gets it, and declares it on the way back. we do it all the time. as a matter of fact i just bought a charging handle for 36.00 US a couple minutes ago.

i dont understand what your getting at?

ginnz.

Ok then..........:onCrack:

Hey just my 2 cents, the issue is not the importation on firearms parts it's the Exportation from the USA without a permit that can get you into trouble !

I don't believe that a simple charging handle that costs 36.00 requires a permit. (I may be wrong).... I just found this on the US Customs permit info page:

A permit is not required for:

(2) Minor components and parts for Category I(a) and I(b) firearms, except barrels, cylinders, receivers (frames) or complete breech mechanisms, when the total value does not exceed $100 wholesale in any single transaction.

-its funny, because it says something about nuclear weapons and the delivery systems not requiring a permit.....

Here is the whole thing (sub context). of course this is )(into the USA)

§ 447.41 Permit requirement.
top

(a) Articles on the U.S. Munitions Import List will not be imported into the United States except pursuant to a permit under this subpart. For articles subject to control under parts 478 or 479 of this chapter, a separate permit is not necessary.

(b) Articles on the U.S. Munitions Import List intended for the United States or any State or political subdivision thereof, or the District of Columbia, which are exempt from import controls of 27 CFR 478.115 shall not be imported into the United States, except by the United States or agency thereof, without first obtaining a permit under this subpart.

(c) A permit is not required for the importation of—

(1)(i) The U.S. Munitions Import List articles from Canada, except articles enumerated in Categories I, II, III, IV, VI(e), VIII(a), XVI, and XX; and

(ii) Nuclear weapons strategic delivery systems and all specifically designed components, parts, accessories, attachments, and associated equipment thereof (see Category XXI); or

(2) Minor components and parts for Category I(a) and I(b) firearms, except barrels, cylinders, receivers (frames) or complete breech mechanisms, when the total value does not exceed $100 wholesale in any single transaction.

This must have been covered a 1000 times on CGN. Ginnz, you posted import rules for things going into the USA. The issue is export rules for parts leaving the USA. If a manufacturer is not licenced for export, none of their gun parts regardless of value, can leave the USA legally.

Yeah, sorry about that.....

as far as buying things, having them sent to a parcel service in N.D, picking the parts up, and declaring them. If the customs officer has no issue with it, then i don't see a problem.? I never made mention of sneaking anything, or breaking any laws.!!!

I couldnt get a Viper Vortex 44mm sunshade for love or money here in Canada, and NO ONE would ship one here. I bought one off of a sire called Wayfair, pay'd via (FRAUD ALERT), got it shipped to parcel service. Took 3 days, went and got it, showed the customs dude, and he said have a good day. There, no issue. I wasnt buying a barrel, or a receiver..... next week ill pick up my skeletonized charging handle for my 10/22, along with a carburetor I bought for the kids quad. as long as my purchases are under 100.00, i get no issue from the Customs dude.....

You should really do a search on exporting firearm parts across the US/Canada border. If you ever get stopped on the US side without an export permit for ANY firearms (even if they are under $100), you can be arrested and barred from going into the US again. It's not the Canadian side thats the problem, the problem is you're breaking US laws.
