12' bbl diminion Arm Grizz buttock- shortened

I have short arms, thinking if I cut down the wooden buttock another inch or two, it would be perfect fit especially when I have my winter jacket on. The question is, is this legal? Just want to make sure before I chop it down.

Also does anyone have a way to put a sling on that wooden stock. The wood seems kinda soft for a swivel.

I had a softer stock I was worried about putting a stud into.

Found a sling stud at my local shop - had about an inch and a bit of thread. Carefully drilled and installed, added a bit of AB epoxy to the threads - no problem.
