Good Morning

What should be a fair price to pay for once fired 12 ga Win AA (old style ) or Remington STS ?, and where to find them? What about buying them from the States ?

Thanks DESERTFOX

Down here 10 cents each for new style AA and sts 12ga and 12 cents for old aa compression formed.
I have seen 410 and 28ga AA go as high as 25 cents and never less than 15 now.

Hi DESERTFOX I'm sure you can get someone on this site to send you an assload of hulls cheap. At the range I go to we have a mini dumpster that's always half full just from all the trap shooting

If you dropped by a local trap club and mentioned empty hulls you'd likely get all you wanted for nothing. I gave 2 barrels of hulls away to someone that I'd never seen before or since.

Most of the hulls on clay fields are from promo loads and are worthless. In these parts, once-fired, new-style AAHS 12 gauge are 5-7 cents apiece while the older style AA are 10-12 cents.

See you are in Ontario so will toss this one out there. I bought all of my hulls, wads etc for 25 plus years from Irv's Shooting supplies in Courtice but he retired and closed shop last fall. Have you heard if anyone starting up a similiar business in Ontario since he had a fair sized customer base I think for these products and seemed like an endless supply of once fired especially 12ga.

The short answer is I don't know. There is a fellow who sells out of a trailer at Galt Sportsmen but I doubt he does mail orders. I'm within reasonable driving distance to Hummasons in Ancaster or Lawry's in Caledonia so have had no reason to have them ship anything. I suspect both will but do not know for certain.

The last best deal on old-style AA hulls I've seen here was at Al Simmons a few years ago. 100 for $8.00. I did not buy all of them but darn near.:D

A bit off topic but,
Are all highbrass shells reloadable or are some no good as well?
also is it possible to reload cheap target shells at all?

I purchased around 2000 AA mix old and new (from EE), paid 5c a hull.

Shipping was extra :)

I can get 5 reloads out of each AA (gray).

Highbrass hulls are often built better but not always. Hornady hulls for example have really loose primer pockets I find; I can push primers in with my fingers and they fall out with a light tap. I haven't tried to reload many Kent but they have a similar, but not as bad, problem.

The cheap target shells can be reloaded once or maybe twice if you're lucky. Just make sure the ones with cardboard base wads don't get wet inside. Generally I can find enough decent target hulls meant for reloading (AA's, Rem Gun Club's, STS', etc.) that I don't bother with the really cheap ones.

I have heard that cowboy action shooters like loading blackpowder loads into the really cheap target hulls since they dump the hulls and don't collect them after.

You got a deal there. Old style gray maybe 5 or 6 max, new supersport gray some guys do 12. Me I don't count any more, I check every one and toss the bad for target loads hunting I do maybe 3 max.
