Just bought this press at a second-hand store. I don't know anything about reloading shot shells and I'm told the priming unit is missing. Where can I buy the missing part and what should I expect to pay if I find one? What would the press be worth? I have been reloading rifle ammo for about 25 years, but know nothing about shotgun reloading. I don't even own a 12 ga. so I'm not sure I will keep it. It seems to be in good operating condition except for the missing part. I will most likely sell it if I can find the part.

The first thing you need to do is figure out which Mec 12 ga press you have, as they have made a number of different ones. Then you can use the link provided to search for the parts you are missing. With the cost and lack of availability of shotgun components and cheap promo ammo being available, shotgun reloading and especially 12ga loading are not what they once were. Hopefully you didn’t pay much, as 12ga presses don’t bring big dollars and may be slow to move.
