I have done it for entertainment, actually they were 2-1/4" shells that I wanted to salvage when the crimp folds started to crack. Used BP data, their ultra short Euro wad, and some red dot under 1 oz or 7/8 ox of shot. Also loaded some with card and fiber wads. Shot them in a 2-3/4" chambered light double, and they worked OK. Patterns weren't quite up to the quality of good target loads, velocity was a touch low, maybe 30FPS because of the mismatch of longer chamber / short shell and jump the wad took before sealing the bore in the forcing cone. You will need a roll crimper and over shot card, no way to make a star crimp that I know of with really short shells.
