With regards to the home made beanbag/rubber round:
If you can find some sort of rubber ball that is .690 diameter or less, that will easily fit inside a typical plastic shotgun wad, and shouldn't cause any issues when fired. *assuming we are using a 12 gauge*
The trick would be finding the rubber balls. I think the old "bouncy" balls we had as kids might work. And I think Wholesale sports sells rubber slingshot ammo, althought those would resemble more of a "buckshot" load than a single "slug" load.
