12 gauge Bear bangers?

These things are corrosive, so take care to clean your barrel after shooting them. Check for partial barrel obstructions prior to shooting high pressure rounds after use. Bangers are better than screamers, the bear is unable to identify the source of the sound from a screamer and he may run towards you. Some guys like to use them in tandem though. Get some rubber baton rounds at the same time. A bear can be quickly desensitized to the bang from the cracker shells, but if it is combined with the discomfort of a baton round, they tend to keep moving.

Kodiak wildlife supply can source most of this for you too. That is who I use for my work-related orders.

And re: the screamers. I like to use a screamer immediately after a successful banger, as it travels farther and makes more noise along the way. Since it chases the already moving bear, it gets louder to him as it approaches. I find it often keeps them on thier heels much longer than a banger alone.

Le Baron sells them. Five 12 ga. bear bangers for $14.94.

They also sell 12 ga. signal flares 5 for $13.94.

That's more than a darn sight better than CT..:p...the catch is, does Lebaron's ever have them in stock? ;)

They did when I was at the Markham location a few weeks ago.

They also have some other flares, screamers and bangers from the same company, Tru Flare I think.

They come in a kit with a pen sized launcher.

Can you use the bear bangers in one of those 12 gauge flare guns or would it blow up? Could be good for parks and stuff.

I wouldn't chance it. But I don't think it would even chamber because all of the banger and baton rounds I have seen are 2 3/4". The red plastic Olin flare pistols are intentionally short chambered to prevent people from getting a Darwin Award.
