I saw boxes of 12ga shotshell blanks in Wholesale Sports this afternoon (Alberta), so, therefore, any Wholesale Sports in Canada should be able to get them in.

That's for sure, just some cheapo target loads and you're good to go. The blanks at LeBaron were over $1 each

Try to find yourself a starter pistol that shoots primers

Wad up some TP and place it in where the shot was. Otherwise you will just set off the primer and pop the wad out the end of the barrel without burning much powder. Just my experience anyway...

+1 on this.
If you don't you'll just end up spraying unburned powder everywhere and it won't be very loud.

I'll have to try putting tp in them, I had also noticed that the report was much quieter than normal.
