12 Gauge Rubber Baton Slug

Hey Yomomma - good pics of bears doin' bear stuff, but not interested in human stuff. That's fine if that's their trip, but even the one at 25M at the golf course or whatever didn't seem to be a 'danger' . I'm more concerned with 25 M and hungry.

Yah...they are intended for non aggresive nusiance bears, not aggresive / attacking bears.

after watching those two videos and seeing that i can buy a smaller 5 pack. ill definingly be getting some.

It will either be slugs for aggressive bears that appear to pose a threat
Or rubber for bears that are still just in the curious about humans and don't seem to be scare enough of us

id bring both but i don't think id do a mixed load in the tube.

we see bears on the property every year, only once have we had to kill an aggressive one. but as more and more land is developed the bears will have increased contact with people. I can see a time in the next 5yrs id need to remind a bear that humans are bad for its health and we should be giving each other a wide path

I have used both the rubber slugs and buckshot on nuisance black bears and would suggest that you stay with the slug. Buckshot didnt seem to have enough energy transfer to be effective. Pump 870 stoked with deterrent round in the chamber followed by lead slugs.

I shot one large aggressive bear in a small town garbage dump. It was lightly raining and I shot her broadside at about 20 yards. At the impact you could see a mist of water erupt off of her entire coat. She woofed and ran about 10 yards and stopped, looking back over her shoulder at me. I put another rubber slug in the the chamber and hit her at the base of the tail and she was gone like a shot.

They have a place where you may want to have a less than lethal option but you better have a lethal round backup in case the bear wheels back and comes at you.
