12 Gauge slugs and choke size!?

Hello folks!

At the risk of possibly beating a dead horse, or posting a horribly noobish question, what size chokes are ok to use when firing slugs?

Imp cyl.?
Mod.?
Full!?

Or must it be a straight cylinder bore to shoot safely?

As long as you are no tighter than full, you are safe for rifled slugs. More open choks usually perform better.

i used an i/c choke before getting a rifled barrel it seemed to work ok not to tight

Factory slugs are manufactured to work in any choke. The slug (soft lead) is undersize and is not what seals the gas pressure, the wad behind the slug does it.

My mossberg 535 seems to shoot the best with I/C choke.I have the rifled barrel so I use it with sabots but had a bunch of rifled slugs around so decided to test them out with the different chokes to see which worked best.
