12 gauge vs 20 gauge slugs

Taking part in the Ontario shotgun season this year and was think of using a 20 gauge slug for deer.

Are there any disadvantage or advantages to using 20 gauge slugs or does a 12 gauge have it beat.

Looking for insight in performance.

I have killed deer with both. (Foster style slugs) I find the shotguns chambered in 20 bore feel more like a rifle when shooting them. Watch your range limits and go slug some deer.

The foster type slugs for a 20 gauge suffer an energy disadvantage... especially at long range. The high end sabots for the 20 gauge are a better choice and have enough energy to kill big game out to 150 yards.
The 12 gauge slugs are just plain better killers and if recoil is not a factor it is a no brainer... get a rifled barrel 12 gauge.:cool:
I'm not even gonna mention bullet placement.... goes without saying right.:rolleyes:

I guess the question is whats normal sluggun range? 50yrds 100, 150 200 on a calm day with a steady rest?

I am not really sure how they shoot. I bought like 5 boxes of them but haven't been able to get out and try it. They do look cool but they also look like a remington sabot slug, just with a tip
