I have a reloading manual that pictures all the major company hull types, and then recommends wads for them. Okay, so..

The standard Cdn Tire 12 ga loads, who makes the hulls, what wads are best for 7/8, 1, or 1 1/8 oz trap loads?

Is their a main-line commercial hull that the CTC one is equivalent to?

Be carefull here. Canadian tire probably buys them on contract from the cheapest supplier. This years hull might be different from last years.

I have some from more than 10 years ago that clearly say winchester on the bottom.
 
I sectioned them, mid 80s Imperial/IVI hull. Now, if only I could find the recipe I used to load those huls 20 years ago, I would be happy.

I'm after a light 7/8 or 1 oz Trap load.

The Challenger and Champion blue and red hulls are made by Cheddite in France and loaded in Quebec. Some these loads were Gualandi wads. There are two diferent crimps on this ammo.
Ballistic products has a manual that works well for gualandi wadds.
The Cheddite case is steel so you do have to have a good resizer on your press. Also the primmers do get loose after about five shots.
I have reloaded several thousand of these hulls and have had great success with them using light loads.

Post a picture of the hulls in question and we probably can I.D. them.

Depending on the vintage Canadian Tire brand ammo (Mastercraft) was loaded by various companies, basically the low bidding contract. I think the last "Mastercraft" branded ammo was loaded by Challenger, and that must be at least 8-10 years ago.
