I'd go with the 12... The nice thing about that is if you still wanna shoot 20g shells, you can always get the adapters for it. Just my opinion though.

I have always shot 12ga, my 1st shotgun was a SxS Stoeger Hamerless Coachgun. it was a blast to shoot (litteraly).
Now it's a 1878 repro hammer gun and that is even more fun.
I shoot Federal trap shells at 60.00/ case, they work well and I have no issue with recoil.

12 ga, SxS hammered shotgun, I bought a Pedersoli, tad expensive at $1,600.00 though.

Its real pretty though! Worst thing you can do at a 2 day gun show when your selling raffle tickets 8 hours a day, is put the table right across from a vendor! After the first day, the guns start talking to you.......
