124gr Can BDX + Titegroup starting load?

I'm about to start trying out the 124gr Canadian BDX. Many of you speak highly of this bullet, can someone recommend a good starting load with Titegroup + recommend the OAL for my Shadow? I've only loaded AIM plated until now, using 3.8gr of Titegroup, with OAL = 1.090. Would these be good to start with the BDX? TIA.

P.S. I see only a 125gr Sierra FMJ on Hodgdon's site, they recommend 4.1gr min to 4.4gr max of Titegroup.

I loaded 100 with 3.8gr of Titegroup - same as I did with AIM. The OAL is 1.155 +/- 0.005. I measured the barrel OAL = 1.165 with Canadian BDX, and backed off by 10 thou, to take my LnL's variance into account. I hope this makes sense.

I'm going to try these today...
 
I just load 6 rounds with say 3.8gr, 6 with 4.0gr and 6 with 4.2gr with recommended starting load of 4.0gr. Shoot the lower loads thru chrono, make notes of velocity, then go on till I get to good readings and then stop. Then load a bunch with that powder charge. If velocity with 4.0gr is borderline, I load at say 4.1gr to get proper PF reliably.

The first 100 went off without a hitch. Fired brass is sooty on the inside, but that's to be expected from a whimpy load. My CZ cycled fine with them and accuracy was good.

I've since loaded another 700 with same 3.8gr of Titegroup & OAL = 1.155 +/-0.005. Out of these, I did the barrel test on the first 100. Not one round was out of spec, so I stopped checking. :D

Thanks, that's what I would do too if I was competing. PF doesn't matter much for plinking at 10yards, you know. ;)

I actually wanted to get a chrono because it is so cool, but I shoot indoors, so would need special lights, too. Also, I don't know if my club will appreciate my chrono screens out in front of the bench.
 
i do a consistent load of 4.0gr (Titegroup) for my 125gr Zero Projectiles.

i tried going 3.9gr at one point; this load did not cycle my p226 & 92fs very well... it showed no problems with the g17 though.
