125 grain Hornaday GMX in 308win

Really? I'm sure it would be fine but it seems a bit light to me. I've been thinking about the 130gr ttsx in my 308 for deer but I sure wouldn't mind taking something big with it just to see how it does.

I've seen what 150gr Accubonds from a 308 do on big bodied bull elk at close range, I would have no hesitations with a 125-130gr monometal on large game. Just loaded up some 130gr TSX in a buddy's 308, from his 16.1" barrel (Ruger Scout). Great accuracy with H4895, speeds in the 2875 fps range (approx speed from 22" would be 3050 fps) - hope to see them in action next week on a big Northern BC black bear if we can get my buddy on one

For cheap shooting, with accuracy and low recoil, the Sierra 125 works well in a 308. I loaded it with a reduced charge of 4895 for my son when he was target shooting at age 10. They were good only to 600 yards, but recoil was moderate.

I have used 110 gr TTSX's. I shot a deer last season with this in 20" barreled 308. It went down in short order with quite a sizable exit wound.

As i worked the load up you could really notice the lighter recoil at starting charges. I was using H322 and even at a start load in 24" barrel this will give you 3139 fps per Hodgdon. I think this would be a great little deer load for a smaller shooter.

Make sure you remove all jacket fouling from your bore before shooting copper/GMX bullets. I find better accuracy results

It is, that is Hornady's claim. Ive never actually loaded a GMX, but have shot hundreds and hundreds of copper Barnes TSX, TTSX and LRX.
