Hey! I'm curious to know if this will work and is a good idea. I cast the 6 cavity lee 125g .356-2r, powder coat and size to .357. It works in my 9mm pistols, but will it work in my .38/.357 revolvers? Anyone here doing this? The final sized bullets measure 3.565 and 3.570

Thanks!

I don’t powder coat but I load what ever I have on hand. I like using Lee 120 gr TC in my 38 due to it being so accurate out to 50 m. I also have a heavy load for my nine 160 gr Lyman 358311. Meant for 38 and 357. As long as you match the bullet diameter to barrel diameter you should be good to go.

My friend gave 5000 125g powder coated bullets for my 9 mm.
He just recently got back a thousand and loaded them for his S&W 38/357.
He had no issues with them

I have the same lee 9mm mold. For fun one day I cast it full of hot glue, loaded into 38 spl cases. No powder.
One case had a magnum primer the other a regular primer. I pushed the projectile flush into case.
The magnum cleared the 22" rifle barrel with a rewarding 'POP' .
The regular primer came 6" short.
It pounded out easy, since they are undersized.
The bullet looked fully engraved with the rifling.
(What your doing may work best if you powder coat to gain the extra size?)

Ya after I powder coat they measure .360-.365 then size them to .357 I guess I could just get a .358 sizer die. Hmmm

They may work fine at .357 or you could powder coat to get a little bigger. Or they might be a bit bigger as-cast and tumble lubed.
Have you slugged the bore or cylinder throat diameter?

Edit: I see you just answered most of that.
Get the larger sizer. Can use it with these or with a different mold should you get another for the .358-359 size
