125gr Noslers, Ought Six & Mulies?

Sorry you confused me with bows, arrows and low percentage heart and shoulder shots.

Did I miss how many big game animals you've shot with Ballistic Tips?

I think you did... you'll have to read back in the thread... thanks for coming out...

No, he just wasn't being a prig about it.

Where you hit it counts for more than what you hit it with. If the bullet shoots accurately, and you have confidence in it, it'll be fine.

Did it hit rib going in or out? I'm really curious to see the exit hole. Did you happen to get any pictures of that?

Sorry Chuck, I really can't remember if the bullet hit any rib. I have never taken photographs of entry/exit wounds, I guess it does not interest me; field photographs, yes. If I'm lucky this year with a bull elk, I'll make a note of how the bullet preformed.

Understandable. That would be great. For some reason it interests me a great deal. I've never really settled on a favourite bullet. I remember years ago my hunting partner and I surmised that a partition with a plastic tip would be a great idea. I think the Accubond has killed the possibility of that ever happening.

From personal experience a 30-06 with Nosler 165 gr. partions, ballistic tips, or Accu bonds moving between 28 - 2900 fps will handle everything from moose on down to ground hogs. So I would stick with 165 gr. in your 30-06.

Yep, with a premium bullet in 165 gr, there isn't anything you 'shouldn't' hunt in North America. (I took a griz with a 168 gr TSX out of an -06...)
