12FVSS in a Boyd's VT laminate - done!

Mystic: That space between the shot is 'cause the paper moved ;)

Covey:you must be using the bipod as a crutch. As your condition worsens, I'll sell you mine cheap so you can have two.

I've gotten better use out of my daypack. I'd never mount that bipod to my hunting rifle. It makes good "bling" if you're gonna sell a gun though. the gatehouse picture?...I don't know what you're talking about

actually gitrdun, I really do not need a crutch, but from time to time I could use a walking stick and that might be reason enough to carry a 30-30 when I allready have a real gun:D

gitrdun, I hope you know that I was poking fun at the 30-30 grizz thing? I actually enjoy your posts and often share your point of view on many controversial things, but your description of daniellybert's bipod as useless based on your preference for a daypack seems to be a bit of bipod bashing!
I have two bipods and prefer the one similar to daniellybert's. Some like em and some don't, but I do not think that they are useless and my use of em have put more meat in the pot than not. Meat in the pot! No need to follow with a fat comment because I am the sensative type.:dancingbanana:

bipods have been discussed many times before so no need to get into it here. A bipod war between us can only lead to one thing. One of will call the other liberal, anti or wendy or 30-30 lover etc.

Again, Nice gun! both yours and daniellybert's. I'll decline your offer on bipod cause I allready have one that does very well.

Hey, everything's cool Covey. I called MY bi-pod useless for me, but then again I'm knee high to a grass hopper. His and yours are just fine. Offer to sell mine still stands though, although my daughter might buy it --- she likes bling. :D

How's about a "bi-pod" for bear defence trhead?

Other than you spell as bad as I do, a bipod bear defence trhead might bring forth an interesting story or two. I heard of a guy who had to roll under his truck when a bear got too close. In that case, one of those short bench jobs might have done the trick?

Knee high to a grass hopper? From some of your posts, I pictured you at 6 ft, plus? "I'm knee high to a grass hopper" If that's your real name, I'll just call you knee high for short eh!

Less talk of lard asses and bipods, more talk about that Boyds stock.

I've got a Savage Model 10fple with the Choate stock. The thing is very heavy and I love it for bench/prone shooting, but it's quite awkward to hunt yote's with. My question is will the action / barrel just drop into a Boyds VT, or will the bed have to be made and will some wood have to be relieved from the barrel channel?

Great job, it looks great. How much was the stock?
After reading up a bit on the savages, I read a review on gunblast.com and ordered a 12fvss shortly after.
My local gun shop called weeks ago to say it was in the country and was being shipped from Edmonton, guess I better follow up since he quoted me a great price. The savage site suggested a retail price of $691us and this guy said $695can.

Enjoy! I should have bought that instead of the 12FV, shoots great but the ss looks way better.:bangHead:

Caboose, yes the barrel channel will have to be opened up as the stocks all come for sporter barrel. But this is not that big of a job, I did mine in a couple of hours. The inlet finishing is not a big job either. I pillar mounted and bedded mine which obviously adds a bit of work.

Powder, you ARE the director...no contest. I just wanna be the "treasurer" :D

The Boyd's stock run approx. US$84.00 plus a tad more for shipping. Definitely adds value to the gun package.

And yes, the groups did tighten up a bit.

Thanks for the compliments guys.
