Have been internet shopping and am looking at the Remington Sportsman Steel loads, the Federal Speed Shock shells, Kent fasteel, or the Winchester Xpert Hi Velocity. I think they're all decent shells, have never used the rem's, the win's, kents and fed's are always available.
We'll be buying #2's for geese, and #4's for ducks.

Anyone want to weigh in with an opinion either pro or con? All experienced answers are appreciated.
thanks.

I shot Fasteel for the last few years, find that quality has slipped a little, I have torn through rims three or four time in the last case I shot. That being said they are much better than the Federals and Remingtons my buddies shoot. I would say my order of preference is Kent, Winchester, Remington and Federal.

That's a good point about the #3 shot as a do-all, I never even considered that. Old habits and you don't even think of change, eh?
We've been using primarily the Kent pretty much since steelshot became the law here, but thought I'd see what others have been using before I pick up a couple cases. Especially since the brands I mentioned look to be all within a buck or so per box.

I use kent fast steel #3 for shooting cripples and jumping ditches. It works great and has patterned well in every scattergun I've tried so far. I use blackcloud #2 in my 12ga tho. My main waterfowl gun is a sxs 10ga and I shoot 1 5/8oz BB federal since I bought it for $10/box. It hits em like lighting

I shoot Federal Black Cloud...not on your list, but I thought i would throw it out there. I'm not sure how it performs in a 2.75, i only shoot 3" and 3.5"...The winchesters have always been reliable as well.

used to shoot fasteel religously, quality took a huge ####. i now shoot winchester. different guns will pattern differently. i wish i could afford to shoot black cloud lol.

Thanks again for the replys. I'm in the city at my daughters place so went shopping. b: I went first to a nationwide store, then to a privately owned shop.
Then I drove as fast as I could to cdn tire and bought out their last yrs stock of win and federal steel 2, 3, and 4 before the price goes up. 13.99 and 14.99 at cdn tire, 18 to 20 at the nationwide store, and 20 to 24 at the private place, and that's for win, fed, and rem's. Allow me to reiterate, b:

On a side note, I had a shower at my daughters place. Despite having about 20 bottles in the shower I found nothing that said soap. On the other hand, the hair on my butt smells like peaches. :D

Did I mention I saw black cloud shells for 43.99/box? :runaway:

get a buddy to pick up a flat from across the border. don't do it yourself, or send a not such good friend for that matter.
