Some help please. I am doing the recycling for a large range and have a fairly steady source of shotgun hulls mostly 12ga. I hate to see piles of the things going in the garbage. Seems there are either brass based or alum based cases. Looks like the alum does not survive well so they may well be garbage. Should I discard these or are they of any use to reloaders? The better stuff has brass bases and there are choices there. Am I wasting my time collecting this stuff or might anybody be interested?

There is a very large dumpster at our club filled with hulls. Only a tiny percentage of them would be worth something to a reloader and most of those would have been picked up already.
Even the brass-based hulls might not be worth much if left exposed to the elements through a long winter due to corrosion around the primer pocket.

The 3 types of hulls are about all that I have kept and most of them look pretty good but then the range is swept pretty regularly too. Got lots of AA and some Federal Gold and a few Premium. The Clever stuff looks good but I never heard of it. I think these are the brands the club sells too so I will check next time there. I reloaded a long time ago in the 60s and we used Imperial brass or Winchester AA then too. Even found a few Imperials but they were corroded so I chucked them. Gonna see if I can pull the alum off the rest and ditch the plastics. Alum is at at $0.80/lb too. Thanks guys.
