I love the smaller gauge guns, 12 is a pain form me to shoot because of the added mass and extra recoil.
Holding most 12's is bad enough for me, let alone the recoil after .
That is why my main gun is a 20.
Just ordered a nice little 28 Fausti however, so Ii have a set of
Briley Companion 12/28 gauge tubes for sale!

Both guages break clay but the12 guages unfortunatly are cheeper to shoot.I have a couple of both and really enjoy shooting the 20s but for long range or really fast targets the 12s throw more lead.more pattern more broken clay.

Well, it's summer time, I've decided to give it a go with my 12ga pump
any advices before my first rounds (trap) next sunday?

Nothing at all wrong with shooting a pump for clays.... maybe a bit of an issue shooting doubles, but not really.

I do however agree that 12g is too much gun for most upland birds. I've started shooting the 20g all the time now as a result, for hunting and at the trap range.
My scores are slightly lower with the 20g - but when I go back to the 12, psychologically I feel like I can't miss!
