Hi All

Just wondering if anyone has tried these short shells in a pump. Do they cycle reliably? I specifically have the Hatsan MPTS if that helps. Thanks in advance.

Ran some through a Rem. 870 , you need to work the action hard. On my shotgun any cycle that was not agressive caused a improper feed issue. A friend the same day had the same shells run through his Rem. 1100 , was a surprize to both of us. Didn't figure they would cycle the semi . Who knows...

I think they were first designed for a winchester 1300. There is now an opsol adaptor for good use in mossberg. Don’t work too great in most other shotguns.

Ithaca M-37 2 3/4 receiver with the extended magazine. 11 in capacity. Feeds and ejects just fine. I know for a fact these shorter shells with jam in any Ithaca 3 inch magnum receiver. I presently do not own a 12 gauge Ithaca 2 3/4 receiver shotgun with a normal capacity hunting length magazine.

There was some South African compact pump action that fed short shotshells thru the pistol grip magazine well. Kind of influenced by the Uzi. I don't know if it could feed this one or a special shell even shorter yet again.

Yeah I seen that on forgotten weapons. I was thinking traditional setup with a slightly smaller receiver and the correct throw distance to cycle them always.

Sir. You have more mulla than myself to set aside enuf cash for a shotgun dedicated to this specific ($$$) shell.
Kudos.

Edit: Brings to mind those lovely English double guns with 2 inch chambers of yesteryear.
But I suspect u desire a repeater instead.

Was just thinking it’d be a good idea. Maybe more options known to work for it would mean more produced and a reduced price.

Yeah that's the MAG 7. They use a shorter shell, but it's like 2-1/3" or something kinda weird. I remember seeing a post on another forum from a MAG 7 owner who had jumped online after hearing rumours that SAAMI was going to spec a minishell, hoping it was one for the MAG7 but was disappointed since the new SAAMI spec is closer to the augila minishell. Apparently RIO makes a shell that's short enough to cycle in the MAG 7 though.

Anyway, speaking of the SAAMI spec I figure it's only a matter of time before someone makes a dedicated minishell shotgun. Not only is there now an official spec for the 1-3/4" minishell, but Challenger here in Canada and Federal in the US are making minishell loads. Makes it a better sales pitch when you have three companies in three countries producing ammo for it vs one company in one country making ammo that's largely seen as a novelty.
