12ga Skeet Load

There is one thing we have to get straight here. There is no money to be saved by reloading or money to be saved by lighter loads and more shots per bag of shot. Reloaders shoot more and spend more. It's sort of like giving an alcoholic cheaper booze.
I love my eight pounders stored in my lock up but even more I love the smell of burnt powder and the joy of breaking things.

Ok, so you caught me out a bit CR:redface:, But Just think about it; cheap booze=more drinks; lighter loads = more shots...where's the problem as long as you don't mix them:D? Besides, I can quit either of them any time I want...honest...really...

You are giving me flash backs Fred when I read this. When you start adding up how many extra shells per bag it may be too late. I know it was for me but it was one of the best things that ever happened.:D
They might be able to bring you back but I am not sure it may be too late.
The only cure I can see is a new
Just kidding with you load 1oz for it all and see how you do. I shoot 28ga for everything just change barrels and choke tubes for trap and switch to 7 1/2 shot from no.9. Makes it easy to load for sure, one wad, same hull and powder just change shot size.

How are things out there 3macs1? I spent a couple of years in NS back in the day (71,72). Took me awhile to appreciate the beauty of it during the winter. I was too busy trying to survive the wind off Bedford Basin walking down Albro Lake Road in Dartmouth to get the bus:eek: to Dal. The Atlantic was the first ocean that actually taught me what the term 'sea sick' really meant too:eek:.
I've already started thinking about the 28 ga, but haven't had the chance to use one. Apparently there are quite a few people who believe it to be the ideal gun for skeet. I think it might take a brave man to try and shoot handicap with it though. I noticed that Bristar in his book felt it was a surprising performer with birds too. The more I think about it the more I think your approach might be right:D!!! The final answer might be having another shotgun...ta! dah!
Changing shot is something that has popped into my head too. (Sounds like I'm reinventing the wheel doesn't it;!) I've been using 1 oz of #8 in singles trap and tried 7 1/2 and it works very well. So, I've been playing around with the idea of shooting nothing but 7 1/2 in trap, regardless of load...simplifies things a bit more...then I thought maybe I can use 7 1/2 for everything like Covey Ridge:D. Much appreciate the advice...especially appreciate the chance to spend more money;)...fred
