I need to buy some slugs, and buckshot for my 14" shotgun. Looking for decent quality that I can shoot lots and lots of rounds. Any recommendations??

I've been on training sessions that just used ordinary Walmart or CTC bulk crap birdshot shells for practicing various manoeuvers. There's no need to use the 'real thing' until you specifically want to figure out patterning and effective range issues, mostly you just want a big bang and recoil.

Personally, I really dislike 3" or larger shells in a tactical operation. Except in a double gun, you're limiting the number of rounds you can have in your magazine, and that's where you want to have them. And for hunting, I strongly suspect that they overpower the shot column and wreck the patterning you want for wing shooting.

Good to know guys. I was gonna head out and get some this am, but apparently the flu is already here. Kid is home sick today. Maybe this afternoon I can get out. I may have to order some Canada ammo ones. Shipping might be rough though.

If you need to shoot lots and lots of rounds, have you considered reloading slugs? I just started and it is great fun, quite cheap actually as you can scrounge some components for free i.e. Lead, hulls. I'm using the Lyman 525 grain slug and it is great, super accurate at 100 yards with a rifled shotgun barrel. Initial investment not high compared to metallic reloading.
