Can I shoot 2/34 and 3" shells in my grizzly 12gage and why are 2/34 so much cheaper

Yes, and less powder too.

But I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that it's also because they make and sell so damned many target shells for busting clays and they have to be affordable to compete. Hunters buy 5 packs, and boxes of shells. Target shooters buy cases of boxes of shells.
