In all honesty, I seriously contemplated this mount but opted to go with a more traditional RMR mount. I'm a fan of shake awake technology after having suffered with drained batteries and dead optics. For the last 15 years, nearly every gawd damned time, when I get to the range, is when I find out I forgot to turn off the optic 2 months ago when I was fondling at home. Never again. Shake awake or no illumination from now on.
I do like the concept of an enclosed emitter, and I hope it won't fog coming from warm home/car into the sub zero elements. I'd like a review on this during winter use. I also prefer a multi-reticle optic as my astigmatism is greatly mitigated with the doughnut of death vs. a dot. Red works, green is better, but these aren't necessarily what kept me away. It was the mount. How it affixes to the shotgun.
My RMR mount has 2 (maybe 3?) designated mounting fastener holes. All properly sized, all properly angled to accept the taper headed screws. This equates to surface area that provides friction. Friction equates to resistance to slippage. The mounting for this optic has one (rear) as the other two spots are slotted so it could be mounted on more shotgun models. the result is two of the screws only contact on less than half of the tapered head. Locktite or not, this will, in my mind, result in a loose optic...and knowing my luck, it'll come loose when the shot counts. No thanks.
