1301 Tritium sights

Be a simple easy yet effective addition for sure.

RDSC in Red Deer handles Blitzkrieg but only has sites for Benelli.

The blitzkreig sights use a small tritium vial and it is pretty far below the top of the chevron. I found on my M2 my eyes had trouble picking up the top of the post quickly. On my 14" 590 it wasn't an issue, but that one doesn'thave tritium just the luminescent green paint. Being quite a bit closer to my eye is the biggest difference. I went with an XS standard dot orange/tritium on the M2 and like it a lot more. Its the same width as the oem front post but the rounded top makes it easier to place the target at TDC. The orange is very visible and the tritium is easy to pick up in low light. Not that tritium is that useful but if you're paying for it its nice if it works properly.

There are now photoluminescent paints that do not use isotopes. These stay bright for hours after being exposed to white light, usually the light given off remains usable for up to ten hours. I am not sure if anyone has experimented with these paints on metallic sights. The paints are on the retail market. This also includes some advanced products for dials.

An interesting development that's been around since the 1990's.

I bought a tritium front sight for my Mossberg 590 and thought it would be brighter then it is, maybe it’s starting to fade out

All the ones I've ever bought for my pistols have the date of manufacture indelibly marked on them. As has been said, they're good for 10-15 years.
