......

Yes the receipts all stated the same serial number which was for a Gen3 build date Feb 2014.
Glock was VERY concerned how their label could had been tampered with..or even replaced. Long story short Glock USA stated it was impossible for them to mislabel it..
Glock USA headquarters staff in sales and tech support both spoke to me plus the Canadian rep in Toronto. I also spoke to local police who were stated that fraud in this situation would be difficult to prove 100% as an inventory mislabelling even if it had been after being shipped from the factory.
The bottom line is although Glock products are factory sealed by this label it would be impossible to prove the store was the culprit even if they had switched guns on me etc etc, it just shows you there is a huge loophole in the law that someone maybe capitalizing on or could....on an unsuspecting customer...again buyer beware it all depends on how ethical your supply chain and end store is and how diligent a consumer you are , I'm sure this not a one time occurrence.
It's funny how the no return policy can be revoked in lieu of admission of guilt itself...and the retailer imho was not willing to appease me for my time or offer me a replacement which Glock headquarters did. Before I returned the gun to store Glock attempted to contact the manager but he never answered the call. The first thing I asked the manager was if he spoke to Glock and he admitted he was"too busy".
Now I am not stating this to be vindicative I am just stating that dealers etc could get away with this with an excuse and it makes me question if it has happened before. It is a reality check...

you spoke to the police about this....?

I think you may need to get over yourself.

How many people's time have you wasted over something so trivial and easily solved?

Given your self proclaimed experience you failed at Caveat Emptor. Yes you let the company (should name them) F you over. I always check my product before leaving the store even when store is only 10 minute drive away.
A Glock 3 and 4 is easy to spot, could have and should have save yourself TONS of time, gas, frustration by doing your homework. Five second to open it, look at the spring, single of dual coil.
Learn from this lesson, don't allow yourself to be F over by other's incompetence; And we all know that is in the majority.
...
Not only I drove 3 hrs I wasted several hours on the phone straightening this out. I don't pay $925 for someone to mismanage a business transaction even if it was a mistake.

I have been in business and know both ends as a client and provider so I know what it's like. I was calm, respectful but direct speaking facts to the store staff not based on just opinion based on info from Glock themselves, so I did my research.

Life is built on relationships and business is the same. I have lots of grace for mistakes which we all make but so many were made and to add dubious facts point that something is amiss, I draw my own conclusion but for those of you who peruse this site and spend your hard earned money, I offered you a little info to decide and maybe save you from similair or worse misfortune . Enuff said and moving on...

Probably a simple item placement error.. maybe they had G3s and G4s at some point, someone wanted to see both, and put guns back into wrong box.. Not hard to fix.. bring gun back to store, they swap it for a G4 since that's what you paid for. Serial number was transfered to you, so they know its the right gun coming back, they can deal with item error internally.. this isn't some elaborate conspiracy..

My thoughts exactly. Before getting in touch with the manager (who offered a full refund) you try Glock and the local PoPo to try to ruin their business and or get them charged? I'm pretty sure they won't give a damn if you ever darken their doorway again.

My soup has fly in it and I'm going to the Human Rights Tribunal.

I wanted a spider.

Uberlame.

holy crap...some people sound like real losers, I sure bet that company wants to see you again, called the police...REALLY?

Don't even have the balls to name them lol

probably cause its a BS story and you don't want them outing what really happened

Hey remember that lady that called 911 from the drive-through because she ordered chicken McNuggets but they were out by the time she got to the window? Are you a nugget fan op?

Major #### move to call the popo about a retail situation, ESPECIALLY when they offered a full refund/exchange. It's not their fault you live 1 1/2 hours away. They have no control over that. Why do YOU deserve a gift card more than someone who lives five minutes away? You're BOTH Joe Schmo who walked through their door, but YOU are the one who chose to drive to that particular retailer.

Did they screw up? 100%.

Was it on purpose? It's possible.

Did they try to make it right? Yes.

Should you return to a store that you believe ripped you off? No.

Should they invite you back after your call to the popo? Hell no.

Do the exchange, go to the range, and live happily ever after. Life's too short for anal retentive siht like this.

I don't understand why people are riding the OP so hard about this,,,, if I drive home from McDonalds and I missing a cheeseburger I'm pissed ffs, if I drive two hours after paying for a Gen4 and find a Gen3 I'm gonna be fackin furious! Maybe not call the police furious, but sure as fack not happy.

A mountain has been made out of a mole hill, that's why. And honestly what is the point of posting something like this as the OP has? We can't help him out. It's just someone's personal drama.

The OP is an odd one. He refuses to answer pointed questions in his post, and even his private message to me he wouldn't tell me who the dealer was only the town/area/municipality. I think what we have here is a weird case of buyers remorse who has latched on a mistake made by the dealer and has chosen to involve just about anyone who will, or has to, listen to him.

There isn't a doubt in my mind the retailer doesn't want to see him again as soon as things are sorted out. What the OP hasn't picked up on is the fact that because of all this drum beating, I won't be dealing with him either!? I don't need the drama entailed with buying or selling from this guy! :)

"Following this thread and the issues popping up long the way has only one major concern that the retailer sold a supposedly new item with old stock/and or parts as a supposedly Gen2 rifle. The OP obviously is not too upset about this but I have dealt with a few retailers who sell open box products as new with used/ missing parts, and after getting them home i returned them accordingly (ie, a laser light). Now i know retailers have a no return firearm policy but really the retailer should be held accountable for this one way or the other. i do also agree the manufacturer could had replaced the whoe upper receiver at least due to it blowing up like it did...IMHO thats all. I personally really question now how old and item is if its not in its original packing etc or on display, it's difficult to verify the authinticity."

There is a quote from one of his other posts. Sounds like he has these kind of issues on a regular basis . And that is from someone that has 23 posts here. Now, as an outsider looking in, I have two thoughts . One, he was legitimately wronged. 2 , he looks for these issues and views himself as the victim of retailers on regular basis. Judging by his call to the POLICE, for me the choice is clear.

On a completely separate subject, self entitled douche bags are common . Far more so than I would like to think. Useless thread, and I pray this guy is not in my community , despite being from Northern Ontario.
