14” bbl sight height - Dlask or NEA

So I picked up an older wingmaster action that had been refinished and had a rail installed on the EE a little while ago and now am searching for a 14” barrel for it. I know there’s been a ton of threads on this lately but the question I have is, if I go with the Dlask will the post be tall enough for me to add a sight (prob ghost) to the rail and have is align properly? Or do I even need to bother with a rear sight with the rail?

The other option I guess would be head down to SFRC and see if I can find an NEA to fit and then get a taller post installed at a smith and prob refinish later. With all the legwork and time the cost will likely be equal for both option so…What would you do in my shoes?

Cheers

The Dlask blade isn't tall enough even without the rail. It's more like a heavy duty bead. Remember the shorter the barrel, the higher you need the bead. If you go ghost rings, go with a matched set

Ok, thanks for the heads up dogz.

Having to replace the Dlask sight and refinish seems like a pain, I guess I'll go with the NEA then... Despite the mixed reviews (to say the least), I figure if I go in person, test fit and check that the chamber isnt parked...I should be good *crossing fingers*

Someone please chime in if I'm makin a mistake!

Whats a good option for sights given the railed receiver? I saw the LPA ghost rings and the XS one that kind of fit behind the rail which might be better since it will keep things lower. Are there any other out there? And I guess whatever option I go with I should just get a post from the same.

Not a huge fan of the band sights. Think I'd be able to get away with a scattergun tech post and this length/height?

It's hard to say. There are formulas for calculating sight heights and you can test it at the range with your chosen rear sight and a mocked up front post....

The Scattergun Tech front will prolly work...will likely have to go to the full range of elevation on the rear to get there tho.
So would a Mossberg 590 front pedestal/blade setup.
I've used the Mossy front pedestal/blade combo and it worked....gives you a dovetail to use whatever you prefer too.

The Dlask isn't even close, not intended to be. It's desigend to shoot as a bead and print POA/POI as such with the 14in bbl.

Hey Terez, So you're saying the higher rear sight would be best to match with either of these? This may sound retarded but could I get away with using a higher bead and the rail itself?

Thanks guys, I'm lost when it comes to this stuff.
