14.5x114mm bullets?

New Lennox Ordnance, I know they sell projectiles to gov't agencies.

Interesting to know of, but with this note on the site, they wont do us much good.

NOTE: These projectiles can only be purchased strictly for experimental or scientific purposes only including research and development. When ordering PLEASE include this statement as well as your government contract number or a copy of your FFL, when applicable, on your purchase order.

"...Brass seems to be as rare as the ammo..." Stateside, but it'd need the export permit if they'll even allow it to be exported. .50 BMG ammo and brass cannot be.

If those 23 rounds are AP or API, pm me and maybe we'll work out a deal for 3 rounds. Just name your price ;)

On another note - how many of you guys degreased your own Russian ATRs? MY GOD. Messiest job EVER. I started with a plastic putty knife and finished by using a huge automotive parts cleaner and varsol. It was awful, and I can only imagine how much worse it would have been without that parts washer!!!

All clean now though... ;)

De-greasing was the easy part. Ijust took off the leather and wood bits the stood it up in the bath-tub and ran hot water over it till clean. getting the cosmoline out of the drains was a real b*tch though.

When I did mine, there was so much goo in the bore, it actually held some of the rifling marks when I pushed it out!

Mine was coverered in alt least a 14" slime coat of cosmolene everywhere - and I do mean everywhere. In places it was thicker than that.

To the guy who removed the leather: WTF? The leather is not removable.

I had a PTRS that I trated to a friend because he just had to have it for his collection. I had 12 rounds with the gun and we fired a few! I was the first to try the rifle out while all my friends hid behind a jeep!

BTW, newly manufactured ball ammo is available in Europe and we could bring cases of it in Canada BUT our friends in the canadian explosives branch will not deliver the import permits for 14.5mm ammo. This despite the fact this ammo is perfectly legal to own and that there are several rifle in that caliber legally registered in civilian hands. All hail our mighty bureaucrats! Think of the childrens!
