Hi All,

I have a set of Wilson Combat Ghost Rings that are waiting to go on my Dlask 14".
I have heard hear say that I need a diffrent front sight other than the one supplied.
Apparently the front sight was not meant for a 14" Barrel and must be replaced if I want POI to be where I expect it.

So? For those of us that are running the 14" with Ghost rings, did you replace the FS or not? Are the shots (slugs in particular) landing where they should be?
Am I making sense

100M shots at a smaller than typical man sized silhouette. 5/6 shots hit. :D Fabarm martial pro forces 14". GR's are the only way to fly.

The front sight that comes with the Dlask is too short to work with a Wilson Combat front sight. The Wilson Combat front sight is meant to fit over the small base (after you remove the bead) on a Remington barrel. So........ to fit the Wilson Combat front sight on the Dlask barrel, I have done it two ways. Either mill the Dlask sight down so it fits under the Wilson sight and then use epoxy/pin combo or have the Dlask sight removed and the Wilson Combat sight silver soldered on. The latter way rrequires a re-parkerizng job.

A little off topic but I like how the front sight picture of the Fabarm is a guy with his hands in the air....:D

Sounds like the original poster is worried that the front sight in his wilson combat set will be to tall for the dlask 14"er....Should be no problem adjusting the rear sight to compensate lot's of people use the Wilson sights on all kinds of 14 inch barrels.

The Wilson Combat catalog used to list two versions, the 14" and the 18". The first time I ordered them (for a 14" bbl) the box that arrived said 18". The Wilson rep. said no problem, they're the same. We discussed it further and he then agreed that it appeared they were different and that he would exchange them. I returned them. The next box that arrived said 18". This time, the Wilson rep. assured me that, while the box was the same, the contents were different - and specifically for the 14" bbl. I took his word for it. Not long after that Wilson Combat stopped shipping to Canada. Since then their catalog dropped any reference to the 14" sights and every set I've bought since then (from Brownells) made no reference to barrel length.

Whatever the truth was, it seems that there is enough range of elevation in the rear to make up for any difference. When properly installed exactly per the directions, they will work fine.

I believe the original track lock had less elevation then the newer track lock II.

I have two of the older, more streamlined style, although I believe that they are still track lock II's. It appears that Wilson had to change the amount of elevation when they got the contract to supply the rear sight with some Rem police models (870P Max?). Those shotguns use the factory Remington ramp with an XS tritium front blade. Why they just didn't change the height of the blade is beyond me as I find this new "style" to be quite a bit uglier, and more awkward looking.
