What do most of you guys have on your 14" HP9, a +1, +2 or nothing? Furthermore, if you have an extention what type do you have and how would you rate it?

14in" bbl isnt taht long. so a +2 barrel might make it looks weird for a esthetical point of view. But if the extra shell really makes a difference for you then go for it!

The +1 will give it a more balanced shot gunn look

+1 seems to be the way ahead. When you get the extension is it a drop in installation or does it require "tinkering"? As well does it include a longer spring or do you recycle the old one?

An extension usually comes with a longer spring. My Wilson +1 did.

Also, you MAY need to either drill out or pound out the 'dimples' at the end of the mag tube. I actually used a deep socket, and pounded it into the tube, and the dimples lifted out of the way. A dremel works as well.

Other than that, you just screw it on! You won't use the spring retainer anymore though, so every time you disassemble, you'll want to be careful!!!

I recently bought a 1 shot mag extension from wilson combat for my hp9-1. It doesnt seem to screw in all the way. However when fitted on an actual remington 870 its fits just fine.

What should I do?

I have a Wilson +1 extension on my 14'' 870 and would recommend it. I had a Dlask +1 extension but did not like the looks of it and sold it before actually trying it out.

yeah have the Wilson +1 as well on my 14" HP9. Works great. You might have to modify the tube for the hi viz green follower to fit properly though.

I too have the Wilson +1 for my HP9 ( bought from P&D - great service ) and it's excellent quality. Highly recommend.

Oh yeah, the one thing I don't like about the Wilson +1 is that you can't remove the sling attachment ( I called them to make sure ) and I find the sling attachment too big and bulky. Other than that, I don't think you'll find a better quality extension. Very heavy duty. Just my 2 cents.

I have the one with the sling stud at the front that uses regular sling swivels.

I have one from Wolverine supplies, I think it is a wilson. Modified the tube to make it fit.
