Yes they existed. I think Target Sports brought some (at least 3) in a number of years ago.

My understanding was that Mossberg doesn't like selling the 14" barrel to the Civillian market; they prefer to keep that to the MIL/LE guys. Again, this is just what I've heard.

I'm pretty sure the 14" nova's are basically a Canadian thing (probably other small markets that allow it as well?), pretty hard to find any info on them outside of Canada when I checked before. I could be wrong though.

I had 2 of them back in the day, since sold, and honestly, I don't see what the big deal is. I find the Remington 14" Police Magnum to be a much better shotgun, imho, ymmv.

From what I know, Benelli 14" come right from Italy, same as Fabarm, thus bypassing the US ITAR nonsense.

It probably is a better gun, but is it really worth $800-900 for a used one? I paid $292 for a brand new Mossy 500 this year, and there are probably better deals than that out there.

correct on all points, only think mossy has goign for it is the open loading port.

Mossy are also easyier to repair ejector, mag tube and shell latches

Wholesale Sports used to sell the 14" Mossberg 590's up until a few years ago for about $400.

I'm not sure if they had the heavy-walled barrels though.

A few of the members here were clever and bought them when they could.

It is just the US export law that is keeping them out of Canada now.

The 14" 590 is a great handling shotgun and very quick with just the plain bead sight.

Yes, the 14" 590 has a heavy barrel just like the 590A1's
